A Fab webinar hosted in San Francisco. Guest speakers Kimberly Shenk Founder of Novi, Chaz Giles founder of Revea, Philippe Sanchez CEO Luum lashes, and Isabelle Rabier founder of Jolimoi Paris. Hosted by Odile Roujol and Camille Çabale.

The takeaway with the quotes of the founders. Let’s talk about tech and consumer trends!

AI screening ingredients for clean beauty brands

“I founded Novi after I saw first-hand discrepancies between transparency goals and available information in the beauty space. As an MIT and US Air Force-trained data scientist, I entered the beauty space by co-founding a beauty company that aimed to sell transparent products to customers. What I found was a giant black box. I followed my gut and founded Novi to create a platform where brands could build products knowing what’s in their ingredients. Needless to say, it worked: we have hundreds of brands formulating thousands of products on our platform, and the sky’s the limit from here. And to top it off, our team is 75% female with alumni from Uber, Target, Eventbrite, BASF, Sephora, etc.” Kimberly

“The beauty and personal care space has undergone a seachange in the last decade. Consumers are asking for transparent, authentic products- but brands and retailers still have limited visibility into the ingredients they build products with. Novi Connect launched in 2019 and has since helped hundreds of brands create products that proactively meet consumer demands.” Kimberly

Computer vision for the perfect make-up

« LUUM is introducing automation to the beauty services market, initially focusing on eyelash extensions, a widely popular beauty treatment. Pioneering a patented combination of robotics, AI, and machine vision, LUUM applies a full set of eyelash extensions in 20 minutes (instead of 2 hours), eliminating the labor costs & imprecisions associated with human application and making every day-beauty effortless.”

“At LUUM, we believe in the power of technology to transform not just businesses, but people’s everyday beauty experiences, by enhancing results, and saving them their most valuable resource — time.” Philippe

Data for skin health and precision skin care

« Revea is reinventing consumer health and wellness starting with skincare. Using advanced imaging and bioinformatics, Revea is transforming skincare from trial and error to precision skincare treatments individually formulated for each consumer’s need and biology. »

« We founded Revea to democratize dermatology and give everyone the power to decode and master their skin. » Chaz
