I am lucky enough to stay one month in in Miami. Here are some of the Beauty& Wellness, and Retail trends, seen by a Seed-stage VC, French living in California.

First, you can feel the energy! While I meet the fab team of Novos, all braving the snowstorms to meet with their founder Chris Mirabile, to prepare their new launches in the longevity space, you can see people here are happy to be in an iconic place in the world.

And the city is moving fast: focusing on tech and sustainability. Open to the new comers. Bold minds, Pioneers in their category, change-makers for our health, wellness and for the planet.

I had an insightful Meeting with Luc-Henri Rousselle in Coral Gabbles /Coconut Grove, the new district with plenty of New-Yorkers and Californian founders, investors, tech people, lawyers and advisors, all freshly arrived to live in Miami. We talked about the latest hot Beauty deals (proud early investor in K18 hair to be transparent). Luc-Henry has been an early supporter of FaB community, he’s an investment banker. If you want to learn more about the new trends in services and spas, read his article 👉 https://lnkd.in/dsbvB97i ( BeautyMatter ).

And here is what VCs say about the trends in Beauty Mergers and Acquisitions, if you missed this week the article by Rachel Brown at Beauty Independent. The prognosis for beauty M&A and early stage funding in 2024: https://www.beautyindependent.com/prognosis-beauty-ma-early-stage-funding-2024/?utm_campaign=later-linkinbio-beautyindependent&utm_content=later-40566036&utm_medium=social&utm_source=linkin.bio

Then I attended Cosmoprof. This is a huge meeting with multicultural leaders, packaging and supplies experts, new brands. I was particularly impressed by:

  • New shopping, and video shopping with Trendio, Alex Perez, ex Amazon, coming from Seattle.

If you missed the article about him in China, here is it (and for full disclosure, also a proud investor with Fab Ventures seed stage, in great company with tech VC Madrona Ventures). They are having such a great expertise in the space of social commerce, including Tiktok video shopping: https://chaileedo.com/chaileedos-us-tour-what-does-fab-ventures-look-for-when-investing-in-startup-beauty/ and WeChat: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/kkaF6a9dBEPpu6JNHz7YOQ

-Latam leaders coming, including our favorite FaB (fashion and Beautytech) chapter leader, Andres Arango, founder of Ethos.

Here are the Beauty Trends, seen by Cosmoprof presented their vision 2023 2028, they are about celebrating otherness.

  • Not about age: embracing age-inclusivity
  • Local love: regional over global
  • Just for me: made to measure tech
  • Open-type: ending gender stereotypes
  • Multi-roots: mixed is the new standard.

We so much believe as a FaB community in the rise of multicultural leaders, embracing inclusivity.

I can’t way to continue the conversation with Cristina Nunez GP & Founding Partner True Beauty Ventures, our guest speaker Jan 25, a meeting with the founders and VCs in Miami, co-hosted with Frank Bitoun.
